Gratitudes for That Work-Life Hustle

Hey, hey, hey.

Just another day in paradise, right?

The rational adult knows not every day is going to be exceptional. Or fun. Or fulfilling.

No matter.

Each day IS a gift, even when life takes a dump on us (or so it seems).

This list is for any day, but especially those when you’re scraping the bottom of the proverbial barrel to find reasons to be grateful at work.

This chick gets it.

This chick gets it.

Come here when you need a quick reminder of all the positive things that are easy to overlook (in no particular order).

  • The breakroom coffee was made fresh this morning!
  • There was still your favorite sweetener/creamer/fill-in-the-blank for you to use in your morning cuppa’.
  • You had a moment to catch up with one of your work friends.
  • One of the email replies you’ve been waiting for finally came through.
  • Your colleague had a win this week!
  • You had a win this week!
  • You have a job that helps you meet your financial needs. Extra uplift if it also enables you to meet some of your financial goals.
  • Legal protections & regulations help keep your workplace safe, so you’re not risking life or limb to earn a paycheck.
  • You can do _ fill-in-the-blank _ because of this money you’re earning. (For me, it’s funding my son’s 529).
  • When you took a bathroom break, the water in the sink for washing your hands was clean and warm.
  • You’ve got a small (or maybe even large) workspace space that’s all your own.
  • You can pick your desktop background.
  • You have more than one outfit you can wear to work.
  • When you left the house today, you made it to work safely. And so did the people you love (or to school, a meeting, the grocery store - wherever they were headed).
  • You have at least one person in the office who you genuinely like. A work friend!
  • The project you’ve been working on is starting to come together.
  • That email you fretted over the other day received a warm reception.
  • Since you started this gig, you’ve figured out how to make some part of your job easier/faster/less stressful/more fun/more efficient.
  • You are thriving in at least one area of your work life - and people are noticing.
  • You found a decent (or maybe even good) parking spot today!
  • The bus was on time, and you didn’t have to jog the rest of the way to the office!
  • The sun will still be out when you get off work.
  • The sun was shining & warming the air when you traveled to work.
  • It’s raining, and that’s good for the earth - future greenery & flowers, here we come.
  • You're all set for that meeting later this week, and you can put it out of your mind for now.
  • One of the meetings you've been dreading has come and gone - that bandaid has been ripped off!

Feeling virtuous and notice something that lights you up is missing from the list? Please comment to share! I will update periodically. Many minds are better than one. :0)
